Key Features & Benefits

Commercial-Grade Honda GX160 Engine

Equipped with an oil-bath air filter, the reliable Honda engine delivers consistent torque and easy recoil starting, even under heavy loads in dusty conditions.

48 Independent Swinging Blades

Unlike rigid blades that can bend or break when hitting buried stones or tree roots, the ACT500’s 48 swinging steel tines pivot back on impact. This protects the rotor mechanism and extends the machine’s working life.

Infinite Micro-Depth Adjustment

Avoid over-scarifying your turf. The fine-tuned, millimetric adjustment dial lets you lower the blades incrementally as they wear down or raise them for a gentle spring thatch-clearing pass.

Transport Mode & Folding Bars

A dedicated transport lever lifts the blades completely clear of the ground, letting you roll the machine safely across paths and driveways. Quick-release folding handlebars ensure it packs down compactly for transport.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the difference between a lawn scarifier and a lawn aerator?
A scarifier uses vertical blades to slice through and pull up horizontal surface thatch, moss, and dead organic matter. An aerator punches deep holes vertically into the soil to relieve compaction and improve deep drainage.

Will this scarifier fit into the back of a standard car?
At 74kg with a heavy-duty steel frame, the Active ACT500 is a substantial commercial machine. While the handlebars fold down completely to save space, we highly recommend transporting it in a van, estate car, or trailer.

Does the hire include a collection bag?
Due to the massive volume of moss and thatch this professional unit pulls out of a typical lawn, a collection bag fills up in seconds. We recommend leaving the bag off, scarifying the lawn, and using a lawnmower or leaf blower to quickly clear the debris afterward.
